Ghost Duels

Your friend is offline, but you want a duel against their Deck? Duel their ghost: a hologram copy of them that plays the Deck they last played online.

In testing

Ghost duels are new and still being tested. Numbers may change before release.

Your ghost

  • Every legal Deck you play online becomes your ghost's Deck, and the look you last had online becomes its look (a change in the character creator reaches your ghost too). There is nothing to set up.
  • While you are offline, your friends and team mates can duel your ghost. Nobody else can, or even sees that it exists.
  • GHOST ON / OFF in SOCIAL > GHOSTS switches it. It is on unless you switch it off.

Duelling a ghost

  • In SOCIAL > FRIENDS, an offline friend who has a ghost has DUEL GHOST where CHALLENGE would be. SOCIAL > GHOSTS lists the ghosts of all your friends and team mates, and says why one can't be duelled right now.
  • You play your own active Deck, in the same format as the ghost's: GOAT against GOAT, Genesys against Genesys, Domain against Domain (without Deck Masters).
  • The duel starts where you stand. Across the board stands your friend's figure in see-through blue hologram light, with GHOST · NAME over it.
  • The duel server plays the ghost with the same duel AI as the station's NPC duelists and the tournament NPCs. It plays well enough, but not like your friend would.
  • 8,000 LP each, a coin decides who goes first, at most 40 minutes.
  • Nobody can watch a ghost duel: your friend's Deck stays among friends.

Rewards

WhoWhenReward
Youyou beat a ghost150 DP and 100 XP, at most 3 times a day and once a day per ghost
The ghost's ownertheir ghost wins25 DP, at most 3 times a day
  • A duel counts from turn 2, won outright, by a surrender or on time.
  • More wins on the same day are practice, and the result says so.
  • A ghost duel counts for the daily missions Finish 2 duels and Win 2 duels, not for online wins.
  • Ghost duels are never ranked, and they don't count for the Bounty Hunt.

What your friend sees

At their next login your friend reads how it went, for example "Ryo beat your ghost in 6 turns." or "Your ghost beat Ryo in 7 turns (+25 DP).". SOCIAL > GHOSTS shows their ghost's wins, losses and latest results.
