World Boss

Now and then the admins call a world boss: a giant Dark Necrofear floats over the Nexus Hall, and every duelist online fights it. Each duel against it takes Life Points off one shared pool, until the boss falls or its time runs out.

In testing

The world boss is new and still being tested. Numbers may change before release.

When the boss appears

  • A banner tells everyone online: DARK NECROFEAR APPEARS, with the size of the pool and your tries.
  • The boss floats as a huge hologram over the Astral Nexus in the Nexus Hall, turning slowly.
  • At the top of your screen, the boss bar shows the pool's LP, the number of fighters and the time left.
  • The minimap marks the boss terminal as BOSS.
  • The four Arena screens show the pool and the top 5 duelists by damage.

An admin decides when a boss appears and how long it stays: from one hour to a week.

Fighting the boss

The boss terminal stands in the Nexus Hall, under the hologram, to your left as you come in from the Hangar.

  1. Press E at the terminal. A small card shows your tries, your damage so far and the deck you will play.
  2. Press FIGHT (or E again). The duel starts right where you stand, and Dark Necrofear itself stands across the field.

Goes firstyou
  • The boss plays with the same duel AI as the station's NPC duelists.
  • You have 3 tries per boss.
  • A boss duel lasts at most 20 minutes.
  • You need a legal active deck and a Discord login. Guests can't fight the boss.
  • Each LP bar measures its own side, so the boss's 50,000 is a full bar too.

Damage

Everything the boss loses in your duel comes off the shared pool: its 50,000 LP minus what it has left. It counts whether you win, lose, give up or run out of time. If the boss heals, that counts against you.

The result screen shows the damage you dealt and the tries you have left. A boss duel pays no online-duel DP: the boss pays at the end.

The end and the rewards

The boss falls when the pool reaches 0. Then the Arena celebrates with fireworks, confetti and a crowd wave. Otherwise it leaves when its time is up.

Every duelist who dealt damage gets a reward by their total damage:

RewardHow much
DP100 DP, plus 1 DP for every 25 damage, at most 2,000 DP
Packs1 pack each at 10,000, 40,000 and 100,000 damage
Bonus pack1 more pack if the boss fell

Rewards arrive as a notice once the last duel against the boss is over. If you are offline then, they arrive the next time you log in.
